Attorney Dusty L. Twyman is a partner at Rohe ◆ Twyman and has had an impressive career, both scholastically and professionally. Dusty double-majored in her undergraduate studies at Frostburg State University in Western Maryland, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in both Political Science and Justice Studies, with minors in Philosophy and Sociology. She received departmental honors in both of her majors while at Frostburg, graduated summa cum laude, and had the distinction of being selected as a Commencement Speaker for her graduating class. Her undergraduate activities included serving as a Senator on the Student Government Association, coordinating a support group for non-traditional students, training for the National Coalition Building Institute, and serving on the FSU President’s Self-Study Committee. Ms. Twyman was also a member of Phi Sigma Alpha, a Political Science Honor Society.
Dusty received her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law. At Emory, she was one of the chosen few selected to join the Moot Court Society, where she was a semi-finalist in the Moot Court Competition. In addition to her Moot Court achievements, Dusty was awarded a Jia-Lih Simeral Scholarship and served as Secretary for the Legal Association for Women Students and as an Ambassador for the School of Law. While in law school, Dusty worked as a law clerk for a bankruptcy attorney in Atlanta, Georgia, preparing Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy petitions. She also served as a Child Advocate/Public Defender in the Fulton County Juvenile Court, and as a parenting counselor for the Nicholas House in Atlanta, Georgia.
After relocating to Florida in 1998, Dusty first practiced as an associate attorney in Central Florida, concentrating in the civil and domestic arena. She opened her own law firm in Winter Garden on February 14, 2000, and continued as a solo practitioner until her merger with A.J. Rohe on January 1, 2014. Dusty practices exclusively in the area of family law, including, but not limited to, divorce, paternity, modifications, enforcement, and other related areas. She is an experienced trial attorney with extensive courtroom experience. She is also collaboratively trained, with the experience necessary to navigate you through the collaborative divorce process. Her knowledge and courtroom experience, along with her understanding and implementation of interest-based negotiations will guide you through the process of your family law case from start to finish and help you make informed decisions.
Dusty and her husband, Tom Morey, have three children, Natasha, Tommy and Nick, and one grandchild, Orion. Some of Dusty’s favorite activities include spending time with her family and friends, riding on the Harley with her husband, watching football and reading/watching mysteries.
